Man held for cooking up snatching story

BEHRAMPORE: A man, who allegedly cooked up a fake snatching story, to keep the money his friend gave him was arrested on Monday. The incident took place at Burdwan’s Fatehpur village on December 1. Ujjwal Sheikh, who works in Saudi Arabia, had given Rs 2 lakh to Moinuddin Sheikh on November 25 to be delivered to his family. However, on Sunday, Moinuddin lodged a complaint saying that he was looted by a gang of snatchers on the way.Police arrested him after a thorough probe.
